I had the distinct honour and privilege of visiting the historic “Red Castle” of Phanariot tradition, the Patriarchal Great School of the Genus (Phanar Greek Orthodox College), an institution dedicated to the service of Greek education since 1454. During my visit, I had the opportunity to donate my book, “The Treasures of Kampos,” to the Headmaster of the College, Mr. Dimitris Zotos.
This College stands as a timeless beacon of education and culture for Hellenism. Presenting my work within these historic walls directly connects the intellectual and architectural heritage of Chios to the heart of Greek education in Constantinople. Chian merchants and scholars were historically key supporters of such institutions, and this gesture serves as a humble tribute to those enduring cultural bonds.
