During my visit, I had the honor of presenting my work to the librarian in charge, as a symbolic contribution to the dissemination of the history and cultural heritage of Kampos, Chios, within one of the world’s most important centers of knowledge.
It is well known that after the Massacre of Chios in 1822, many inhabitants of Kampos and the wider region fled to Alexandria, playing a significant role in the formation and flourishing of the Chian community there, while preserving the memory and traditions of their homeland.
